A-Z CHALLENGE ‘G’ GAMING

I’ve heard multiple families questions the benefits of games. Not board, but video. People seem to hold on to the theory of them warping young brains. I am absolutely an advocate of board games, especially educational ones like Flashcar. However, many moments of our family life, on which I will look fondly upon, took place with video games. Carnival games, sports, & hunting have all been played on the Wii & as a family. Times when our 15 year old, regressed into the sunken silence of the teen years, would perk up & animatedly describe the latest war crusade on Xbox. Our 7 year old jumping up & down because he’d properly arranged the Ten Commandments in PS2’s Bible Trivia. We’ve been wise & age-appropriate in our choices of games. We’ve set reasonable limits. We’ve used it as a learning tool, an exercise program, & for teachable moments. Most of all, we’ve gamed together.
