Every once in a while, you just need to get away. If you find yourself in or around Ohiopyle, PA, consider staying at the Lodge at Chalk Hill. Chalk Hill, PA is just outside Ohiopyle.
My husband actually was the one who made the reservations there. I didn’t know about it. He had seen it when he was on a fishing trip with the kids.
I will say up front that this is my own personal opinion & I have never been contacted by the Lodge. But, when a place is great, they need to be known.
Chalk Hill is a quiet little town in the mountains. There are plenty of places around it. The Christmas Shop for one. It is a fabulous place to antique! There are more than a few cute restaurants.
The Lodge has rows of rooms. Some bigger are than others. They are together in sets of 10. When we stayed, there were only 4 other cars in the vast parking lot. It is surrounded by woods. Right behind our room, there is a spacious lake which you can view from the attached deck. Or you can walk down the stairs from the deck & fish in the lake. It is simply beautiful. We were never bothered their staff was so sweet and genuine & though the rooms aren’t huge, they are cozy. The have WiFi too, just in case you’d need that. Also, the rooms have a kitchenette with dishes plus cable TV.
But, honestly, the lakeside view was the best part. I feel that if you find a place that is beautiful, affordable, & well-staffed, then you should absolutely share it!
It really felt like home away from home.
