Don’t lose sight of what your blog was to you. It is so easy to do. You begin blogging with delusions of grandeur. Millions of people are going to read it and hang on your every word. It is not so easy.
Maybe you started because you saw a blog with 10,000 Facebook likes and thought, awesome, me too? Soon you become wrapped up in reviews, giveaways and numbers, numbers, numbers. One day, you look at your archives and realize you haven’t written a sincere post in 6 months. Ouch! What happened?
Some blogs are built around reviews. That is exactly what the blogger started out to do and have no other intentions. He or she can continue on their chosen path without an issue. But what if you started your blog to help moms do (fill in the blank) and now, all you do is reviews & giveaways? It’s time to hit restart.
Start writing again. Go back & look at posts from where you were passionate about your blog posts. Rewind time. Start thinking about the direction your following. Reviews & giveaways are great. But, what about one honest to goodness post a week? That’s doable. Ask your readers what they want. Do they want more posts on clothes, shoes, school, etc.? Write about that. Start a special interest topic. Watch a new show & tell your readers about it. Talk about the awesome school play your daughter starred in. Anything.
But, get back to your first love. You’ll feel better about it & your blog.
