Book Review: 'Trusting God'

Trusting in God
I recall a hymn that included the lyrics: ‘Trust & obey/for there’s no other way.’ While in modern English trust is a ‘bad’ word, when it comes to God, we’re to trust.
Setup as a 12 week study, ‘Trusting God’ is written by 3 authors: Sharon Jaynes, Gwen Smith & Mary Southerland. Bringing Christian women together is their goal and their designated recipients. Each devotional is design as if part of a friendly chat. Reminding us that while humans fail in the trust department, God isn’t human, He’s God.
Using 1 Thessalonians 2:8 as their theme, they also address having childlike trust, testimonies of faithfulness, & life’s storms. Each devotional is sized for all we busy ladies. Strong Scriptures to meditate on complement each one. The study is complete for groups, duos, or individuals. Each ends with a lovely prayer. There are Facebook links, too. I wish I’d had access to this year’s ago for a class. Neither wordy nor preachy, it makes perfect use of its brevity. Honestly, devotionals these lengths are easier to commit to, also. The friendly stories & anecdotes aren’t overly personal, making it ideal for newer groups.
This is a devotional that I would personally recommend with a 5 of 5 stars. I received 1 eBook to write my review. As always, my opinions are my own. No further compensation was provided. Visit www.GirlfriendsInGod.com for more info or the publisher www.waterbrookmultnomah.com
