Little man
woke up in a very silly mood. My husband left extra early this morning & I
woke up when he left. It was still dark. I got some things done, then I must’ve
fallen back to sleep. I honestly don’t remember. The next thing I knew, I heard
a little voice telling me to get up for school. I thought, Hey that’s my line.
We heard more ruckuses from the
bottom of the hill. New neighbors have brought in a backhoe & I just don’t
want to know. So, I am purposely blocking out the sound. I refuse to glance out
the window.
It is also my oldest 19th
birthday. Hooray! He took the day off from school. Grandma is picking him up
for a fun weekend. Why not? You only live once. He opted out of a cake this
year. That’s ok because, *gasp*, I forgot to either buy frosting or get
ingredients to make it.
We puttered along well with our
lessons. I was actually quite pleased with the results from the picture
postcards. I am also attempting to get Dad to drive us somewhere where he can
observe Native American artifacts. Hopefully, he will sometime within the week.
I am desperately trying NOT to
become distracted by the neighbors. Although, an enormous moving truck has
arrived. I am getting the feeling that these people either come from money or
have a lot of their own. That’s unfortunate. Most of this little community is
people who are either farmers or come from humble means. We’ve never really had
a ‘local’ with large finances. It makes me wonder how well he’ll be received. I
supposed he’ll be well received if he remains a down to earth neighbor.
Apparently, the husband met him this morning. He exchanged very few words with
him due to a pressing work matter. I am just pleased that he made himself known
finally.
I will have to put my ADD in check
long enough to seriously teach little man today. I’ve asked God’s help with
this. I will relax, I suppose, once all the moving in is finished.
